RSA in Leaders Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management

BEDFORD, Mass. - May 19, 2010

RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC), today announced that it is positioned in the Leaders quadrant within Gartner’s 2010 Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).  The positioning is based on completeness of vision and ability to execute and evaluates its RSA enVision® Security Information and Event Management platform.  It appears in the May 13, 2010 report by Mark Nicolett and Kelly Kavanaugh entitled, “Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management.”

According to Gartner, “SIEM deployments are often funded to address regulatory compliance reporting requirements, but organizations should also use SIEM to improve threat management and incident response capabilities.”

The RSA enVision platform is designed to give organizations a single integrated 3-in-1 log management solution for security information and event management to simplify compliance, enhance security operations, and optimize IT and network operations. The RSA enVision solution provides automated collection, analysis, and reporting of log and event data.  More than 2,200 customers have selected the RSA enVision platform.

“We are extremely proud that the report from Gartner positioned RSA in the Leaders quadrant,” said Christopher Young, Senior Vice President, Products, Technologies and Markets.  “The RSA enVision platform brings value for customers of all sizes across the globe, helping to increase productivity and drive efficiency. The solution is engineered to make the right log and event data available at the right time to help customers make decisions, whether it is real-time alerts around suspicious activity, regularly scheduled reports or ad-hoc queries as part of an investigation.”
